Registration

Welcome to the registration process for SUNIA 2017. Before continuing to the steps below, please review the items below.

Eligibility

There are only two requirements for students to attend.

  • First is that they are between the ages of 14-19 on the date that SUNIA takes place and;
  • That they were enrolled in grade 9, 10, 11, or 12 the year before they attend SUNIA.

For international students, we have the following additional requirement to the ones above:

  • That you obtain travel insurance for the week that you will be attending SUNIA.

Dates

SUNIA takes place in two separate weeks in August. Week A is August 13th - 18th and Week B is August 20th - 25th. These weeks are offered for the convenience of scheduling whichever fits best for the schedule of the student.

Payments

SUNIA is a volunteer-run, non-profit society and a registered Canadian charity. We make every effort to minimize costs in order to keep our fees low. Our program cost consists of two payments totaling $595.00:

$200 - Payment One, to be paid by June 1st. If you register after June 1st, you have one week to make this payment.
$395 - Payment Two, to be paid by July 10th. If you register after July 10th, you have one week to make this payment.

If you require financial assistance, please read over our Scholarship Page. We have many scholarships and bursaries available that can lower or completely eliminate the cost of attending SUNIA.

We will gladly offer assistance in locating funds; we don’t want students to be unable to attend because of financial considerations. Please contact us for ideas and advice on raising money and specific organizations to look at.

Transportation

SUNIA offers students the ability to take a bus from the greyhound station in Red Deer to Goldeye and back at no extra cost to students. Students and parents also have the option of driving to Goldeye directly. We also can set up carpools to and from Red Deer in the event students cannot make it to Red Deer on their own. For more information on transportation options, please visit our Transportation Page.

Registration Steps

 
  1. Complete the online registration form by selecting either the Canadian Form or the International Form.  
  2. Submit payments by the payment deadlines below.
  3. Fill out the waiver forms that correspond with your session choice and mail them to the address enclosed or email Victor Frunza at registrar@sunia.ca.

Registration Forms

Below are the registration forms for Canadian and International Students. If you are currently residing in Canada, please select the Canadian Form. If you are an international student, please email Victor Frunza at registrar@sunia.ca. 

If you are already registered and you require a change to your registration, please contact our registrar, Victor Frunza, at registrar@sunia.ca or (780)-200-2852. Please do not submit another registration.

Payments

SUNIA is a volunteer-run, non-profit society and a registered Canadian charity. We make every effort to minimize costs in order to keep our fees low. Our program cost consists of two payments:

$395 - Payment Two, to be paid by July 10th. If you register after July 10th, you have one week to make this payment.

Please note that there is a PayPal processing fee for online payments.

You may pay for payment one or payment two, or both combined at this time. Please note that Payment One will be non-refundable after July 1st, 2017 and Payment Two will be non-refundable after August 1st, 2017. If you choose to pay in full, $200.00 of your payment will be non-refundable after July 1st, 2017, and the remaining $395.00 will be non-refundable after August 1st, 2017.

PayPal

We use PayPal to process all of our online transactions. Once you have selected which payment you will be making, you will be re-directed to the checkout page for your payment. All of your information is secured through PayPal's services. A confirmation email will be sent to you from our registrar within 24 hours of the transaction.

If you prefer, you may also pay by cheque. Cheques can be sent separately for each payment, or together for the full $595 fee in one cheque. Please make the cheque out to "SUNIA". Please mail all cheques to:

Waivers

Submitting waivers can be done in a variety of ways. Please select the wavier package that corresponds to your SUNIA session. Please complete them and submit them in one of the following ways:

  • Download the forms, print them, and complete them. Then scan them in and email the resulting PDF to Victor Frunza at registrar@sunia.ca.
  • You can also fill out the waivers electronically, sign them digitally, and email the resulting PDF to Victor Frunza at registrar@sunia.ca.
  • Download and print the forms and mail them to the following address once completed.
