Edmonton Public Teachers Local No. 37 Alberta Teachers’ Association Scholarship

The Edmonton Public ATA generously sends two students from every Edmonton public high school on a full scholarship to attend SUNIA. If you are interested in receiving this scholarship, please contact the Social Studies department head at your school.

S. Claire Macdonald Memorial Scholarship

The S. Claire Macdonald Memorial Scholarship covers the registration and travel expenses of one high school student. This scholarship is a generous gift in memory of Claire, who attended in 1999 and loved her time there. Preference is given to students from British Columbia or the Northwest Territories. To apply for this scholarship, please send a 400 word statement on why you would like to attend SUNIA to registrar@sunia.ca.

Please note: you must first register online with our program to be eligible for any scholarships. Any student who applies and has not registered for our program will not be considered.

bursaries

As a registered charity and non-profit society, we've always worked hard at SUNIA to keep our program as financially accessible as possible. Over the course of its 72-year history, SUNIA has prided itself on being able to provide opportunities to attend for families of all income levels. For this reason, SUNIA offers bursaries for families that cannot afford the full cost of the program.

This funding comes directly from SUNIA’s budget, and there is a limited amount available, thus we encourage only those who indeed require assistance to apply.

Applicants will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire that discusses their motivations to attend our program, as well as their financial need circumstances. Requests for bursaries will not be approved until July, and will be followed up on individually by the Registrar. If you have questions about the specifics of our bursaries, please contact registrar@sunia.ca.
