SUNIA is a volunteer-run, non-profit society and a registered Canadian charity. We make every effort to minimize costs in order to keep our fees low. Our program cost consists of the following:

A payment of $595 is due at the time of registration by either online credit card payment, or by cheque. Requests for deferrals, payment plans or financial aid will be granted at the discretion of the Registrar, and are available for request within the online registration form.

Please note that there is a PayPal processing fee for online payments.

Our refund policy is as follows:

  • For requests received prior to July 1st 2019: $495 is refundable. $100 will be kept by SUNIA as a processing fee that will not be returned.

  • For requests received on or after July 1st 2019: None of the initial payment of $595 will be refunded.

We use PayPal to process all of our online transactions. Once you have selected which payment you will be making, you will be re-directed to the checkout page for your payment. All of your information is secured through PayPal's services. A confirmation email will be sent to you from our registrar within 24 hours of the transaction.


If you prefer, you may also pay by cheque. Cheques can be sent separately for each payment, or together for the full $595 fee in one cheque. Please make the cheque out to "SUNIA," and mail the cheque to:

Deferral/Payment Plan

Requests to defer payment for SUNIA, in part or in full, will be granted at the discretion of the Registrar, and a follow up call will be made. Please detail your preferred payment schedule and payment method within the box provided within the registration form should you choose this option.

Financial Assistance

Over the course of its 67 year history, SUNIA has prided itself on being able to provide opportunities to attend for families of all income levels.

SUNIA offers a variety of scholarships from third-party sources. These include the Alberta Teachers’ Association, and the United Nations Association of Canada. Please select this payment option if you have already applied for or received one of these scholarships listed on our dedicated web page.

Additionally, SUNIA offers bursaries for families that cannot afford the full cost of the program. This funding comes directly from SUNIA’s budget, and there is a limited amount available, thus we encourage only those who indeed require assistance to apply. Applicants will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire that discusses their motivations to attend our program, as well as their financial need circumstances. Requests for bursaries will not be approved until July, and will be followed up on individually by the Registrar.
